What is NPS?
National Pension System (NPS) is a voluntary, defined contribution retirement savings scheme designed to enable subscribers to make systematic savings during their working life. It is regulated by the PFRDA.
NPS Benefits
NPS offers additional tax deduction of up to ₹50,000 under Section 124(3) of the Income-tax Act, 2025 (successor to legacy Section 80CCD(1B)), over and above the ₹1.5 Lakh limit of Section 80C. At normal exit, up to 60% of the corpus may be withdrawn as permitted by NPS rules, while the balance is subject to applicable annuity requirements.
