Which regime is better for me? ▼
The better regime depends on your income, eligible deductions and tax profile. Use the calculator for an estimate; it does not cover every special-rate income or eligibility condition.
Is salary up to ₹12.75L tax-free in the new regime? ▼
For a resident individual with only normal slab-rate income, the new-regime rebate is up to ₹60,000 when total income is up to ₹12 lakh. With a ₹75,000 standard deduction, a salaried taxpayer can therefore have up to about ₹12.75 lakh of gross salary before tax, subject to the rules and exclusions. For Tax Year 2026-27 the rebate is under Section 156 of the Income-tax Act, 2025 (the successor to Section 87A).
